Jamie Bamber Needs You!
Over at Jamiebamber.com.uk, Jamie has posted a blog entry, his second in two and a half years! ;) He talks a bit about currently filming Law & Order:UK in London and working on Dollhouse, but the real reason for the post is to support a good cause:

Now the favor.

I am an ambassador for a charity called SPARKS which does amazing funding of research into infant health issues, particularly pre/post-natal stuff. On Saturday 10th October I am running 10km, doing an assault course and solving mental puzzles in a team event. I would be humbled if you could visit the following and maybe support.

Jamie's fundraising page can be found HERE at Sparks.org.uk.

This Saturday I am going to be completing a team challenge with my buddy, Kenny Logan on behalf of his LOGAN"S CHALLENGE event for Sparks. Also in our team will be Olympic gold medalist, James Cracknell. I will be running as fast as I can for 10km while Kenny gets on his bike and cycles 25km. There is an assault course leg which we all do and in between all of that we have skills challenges where we have to calm down to allow our brains and logical faculties to solve some mental puzzles... and the whole thing is in aid of SPARKS, a charity I am very proud to support. Sparks funds all sorts of research that otherwise would not happen and aims to discover more about pre and post natal problems for children. For example the incredible new technique of chilling babies who have had traumatic births to the point of hypothermia in order to contain any brain swelling was pioneered by SPARKS research. Kerry and I are proud ambassadors of SPARKS. I would be very grateful if you would make a donation to spur us all on. We will be in Black Country Park this Saturday 10th October from 10am till 3pm!!

I also see that he posted at the Bamber Bunnies site HERE.

Yay Jamie blogs again, thanks for pointing me to the posts!
So cute how he supports Tahmoh and his sis!
Interesting that he says he's moving to L.A. for good next summer, does this mean it's the last season of L&O UK we'll be getting? or maybe he's got some other project in L.A. in sight? Mhm...
Definately will be checking out the charity!

I thought the comment about moving back to LA permanently was interesting too. I'm trying to recall how his L&O:UK contract was structured. If there was an option for one additional series or two? It may be his contract is up and he plans to move on to other projects. He did mention in interviews that this past summer he and Kerry would have to decide where they wanted to settle because they didn't care for all the traveling back and forth.

Ah interesting, so they might go on without him. I like L&O:UK, but i guess L.A. jobs are more lucrative. I just hope he gets a show that doesn't have overly long hiatuses (hiati?) for once!

Yeah, if you consider the number of times that L&O:US has swapped out cast members, it fits the profile. ;) Jerry Orbach had three partners during his run.

U.S. television and film gives an actor much greater earning potential. And he's got three kids to put through college! :) Assuming ITV wanted to continue without him, they could and it's in keeping with the original L&O that changes cast members regularly. Of course, this is all guess work on our parts at the moment. We could be reading too much into his comments, but I doubt it. ;)

I know I'm a giant nerd, but the fact that Papadama got the donation ball rolling there delivered a load of squee. ;) Aw, bless.
