I'M SO EXCITED! We have our first look of Jamie in action as Dr. Tyler Wilson! This looks good, people. And it would seem a bit more humorous than the book. I approve of this. :) Now, prepare to squee in 3...2...1...
By the way, this may get taken down. I'm not sure if TNT intended it to be released.
ETA: Please, please, please flail away and discuss in comments. I'll post some thoughts later. Sadly, I can only sneak in one viewing while at work. ;)
ETA 2: Screencaps! Since the video isn't the best quality (hopefully TNT will release an HD version soon), I only made a handful of caps of Jamie.
Seriously, (this might be the wrong place to say it but) based on this clip I think Sydney will be my favorite character on the show! I loved her in the book and wished she had more to do. I think they've upped her sass.
I've been optimistic about what JenFinn will bring to the table from the beginning; what really concerns me is whether or not the show will develop Tina more strongly than she is in the novel, to make us understand her behavior even if we don't necessarily support or condone it. Characters are allowed to frustrate me as long as I feel like I know why they're doing it. ;)
LOL, go back and read our MM book discussions - there was a LOT of ebullient love of Sydney in those comments. ;) I can't wait to see what Sarayu Rao does with her, she's great in this teaser.
(Great icon, BTW. ;) You'll have to re-do that with a shot from MM eventually... never can have too many hot doctor icons.)
Wasn't she missing from the banner (or something like that) they put out? I was afraid she wasn't being put front and center but this trailer feels like she's pretty up there.
Simon Tam <3 I hope we get this trailer in better quality soon because I could do with some icons.
Wasn't she missing from the banner (or something like that) they put out?
Ah, yes she was. So were Keong Sim and Bill Irwin... although Jonathan Silverman made the cut, and his role was described as a "guest star". (He also seems to have been significantly re-written from the similar role in the book.) I wonder if perhaps they might be beefing up his character's prominence.
If the rest of the series doesn't deviate from the tone set in the pilot (or pilot promo), it looks like my fears regarding DEK's involvement will be assuaged. :D There's definite humor (we all support Jamie having the opportunity to show his lighter side), but no hallucinating, excessive quirkiness or off the wall behavior on display. I really hope TNT doesn't make us wait until summer 2013 to see this.
The day before a mid-week holiday is always hellish at work, so I decided not to sneak a look earlier and properly watch it once I got home. Best idea ever.
OMFG YOU GUYS YOU GUUUUUUUUUYS!!!!1!11!!!!1 ;)
Positively love the tone of this - not deadly serious, but not at all DEK over-egging-the-pudding daffy - just right. It's the porridge that Goldilocks chose! XD Now, really enrich the character development from how they were drawn in the novel and we are good. to. GO.
It seems remote to impossible that they would have changed Ty's nationality from the book, given how he's written, so Jamie's accent isn't a surprise... but Alfred Molina's is. And I kind of really love that Hooten is British now. ;)
I mean, damn... god DAMN, people:
Is it that time again? Yeah... yeah it's that time:
Ahhhthangyew. (Also angstangstangstANGST holy hell, bring it JB.)
Thank you a million times over for posting this. this has so much potential. Jamie looks amazing and we know how well he pulls off angst. This is just the type of role that could get Jamie the recognition he deserves.
it's nice to hear his Lee voice again.
And Sydney looks fun. Kinda like if Starbuck had been a surgeon..she would have been Sydney.
