Convention News and Twitter Pics Courtesy of Kerry
I'm beginning to feel as if convention news should be a regular feature around here!

First up, Galacticon III has announced Jamie as a guest. The con will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original Battlestar Galactica and the 10th anniversary of the, well, good version. ;) Other scheduled guests from 2003's BSG include Edward James Olmos, Michael Hogan, Leah Cairns, Luciana Carro and Aaron Douglas. The con runs from May 23rd through May 26th, 2013, in Houston. Membership fees are in line with Creation Con pricing (the gold membership is currently $299). If you register with a friend between now and August 26th, you can get a $10 gift certificate. However, I don't see that as much incentive this far out from the convention dates.

Second up, a reminder Fan Expo Canada is next weekend in Toronto and Jamie will be appearing August 24th-26th. There is a Schedule for Sci-Fi Guests as well as a Master Schedule posted for the convention. Jamie's Q&A will be Friday at 2:30pm in Hall G and photo ops will be on Friday at 1:00pm and Sunday at 11:00am. The cost for a photo op is $40. Autographs will also be $40.

Finally, Jamie will be at Dragon*Con, in Atlanta, August 31 through September 3.

A full schedule should be released by D*C next week, but the American Sci-Fi Media track as posted a tentative schedule for their panels. Jamie's is scheduled to appear at all four BSG panels:

Friday 11:30 am, Atrium Ballroom (Marroitt): This Is Not All We Are (also scheduled to appear are Katee Sackhoff, Richard Hatch and Kevin Grazier)

Saturday 4:00 pm, Centennial II-III (Hyatt): Welcome to the Quorum (also scheduled are James Callis, Katee, Hatch and Grazier)

Sunday 5:30 pm, Atrium Ballroom: Bright Shiny Futures Are Overrated (also scheduled are James, Katee and Hatch)

Monday 11:30 am, Centennial II-III: Galactica Will Bring Us Home (also scheduled James and Hatch)

Froggy's Photos has not posted photo op times yet, but Jamie is scheduled for Friday-Sunday. The cost is $40. And James and Jamie will be doing photos together on the same days for $70.

If you don't want to purchase a photo op, but still want a photo with Jamie (or James), most of the guests (there are always exceptions) will pose for photos at their autograph table for $10 or $15 dollars. From recent con appearances, Jamie still seems to be doing this.

Both Jamie and James use Erin Gray as their convention agent, while Katee is signed (last I heard) with Julie Caitlin Brown, thus her photo ops are with a different photographer. For anyone hoping to get a group shot with all three, or a photo with Jamie and Katee, sorry. :(

Also, if the Walk of Fame layout doesn't change from the last two years, Erin's clients will be signing autographs in the main room while Julie's clients will be in a smaller room across the lobby. Julie's clients are also on a signing schedule while Erin's are free to come and go. When Jamie was there in 2006 he spent a lot of time at his table.

This will be my eighth(!) Dragon*Con, so if anyone going has any questions, please feel free to ask. :)

Jamie and Kerry spent a good part of their summer in the UK and Europe and got to enjoy some of the Olympics first hand. Kerry tweeted a few photos while they were away and I realized I never got around to reposting them here. D'Oh!

And because we like to support the Bamber-Norton-Griffith family, a quick reminder that Jamie's sister, Anastasia Griffith, new series, Copper, debuts tonight at 10pm est on BBC America. It also repeats numerous times after that. You can also find her on Twitter as @AnastasiaGLive.

When that third pic went up, the first thing that popped into my head was "Helloooo, Mr. Kennedy." ;) (Or Admiral Kennedy, as I like to say now that Jamie's less of a wee crumpet. Heh.)

HOW is D*C less than two weeks away?! Exciting; I'm glad my first time will be with you and the gals, being with vets helps. ;) (Although once you've braved Hall H for an entire day at SDCC, you can pretty much handle anything without flinching.) Also glad I can plan around the panels now, though I probably won't be penciling in much more until I get more intel on my friends and work contacts who are attending; I might need to skip some of my "maybe" panels to meet up with them, depending on the day. At least I won't have the same work load as I did at SDCC, this trip is more for fun. (Oh, and a little bummed I may have to miss the Monday BSG panel to catch my flight, though if it won't cost too much I may move my flight later in the afternoon... we'll see.)

I had been side-eyeing Galacticon on and off for the past several months; with Jamie in, obviously my interest just got a swift kick in the ass. ;) Depending on who else gets added, I have some friends who might decide they're in too. I agree though, it's a little too far out to commit yet. (And *if* I go it'll be the Silver membership, $300 just for admission is way out of my price range. o_O).

I thought the same thing! Seriously, turned the laptop to my housemate and said "See, his hair's all Archie-blond again!"

Clearly what happens when he spends enough time out in the sun.

I have my own headcanons about Archie's later career, but there's no denying the resemblance.

AU headcanons are fun. ;)

(So is Photoshop.)

But that's still a lieutenant's undress coat?

(AU headcanon: new name, returned to London, became a member of Parliament for a pocket borough a relative of his just happened to control, worked for abolition alongside Wilberforce.)

LOL! Erm, I suppose I could have tried to shop the coat? I guess I want to push my luck. ;) I already sepia'd it (i.e. "the PS coward's solution to color matching.")

Well, if you want him to be an admiral, you'll have to shop him onto Pellew, gold lace, red sash and all! Alas, some of the best views of that are in the wedding scenes, which DID NOT HAPPEN.

Nice work. I have to say that I sort of like your AU headcanon.

Can I just say that his hair is epic!

Can't go to the cons so I am really looking forward to the pics!

Will do our very best on the pics front. ;) You will be missed, ma'am! Maybe next time.

First of all I wish that you all a great time at D*C.

Then, waw - a lot of news (and info) in one post. This really seems to be the year for conventions.

And before I forget - thanks for posting the pics from Kerry.
