Jamie Has Cancelled His Appearance at Galacticon 3
While we wanted to wait for official word, we had thought it unlikely Jamie would not be able to attend Galacticon 3 with filming on The Smoke to begin soon in the UK . And @Galaction3 confirmed this afternoon that Jamie has bowed out. I know this is disappointing for fans hoping to see him next month. But Jamie being Jamie, he went above and beyond and filmed a video sharing why he would be unable to attend.

'Houston, we have a problem' was a nice touch. ;) And it sounds like he tried to work out a way to be there, but it is impossible with his current schedule.

Now, for a bit of good news. :) Monday Mornings ratings were up again. Last weeks episode had 1.32 million viewers (and a .3 in the 18-49 demo). The overall viewership would be slightly about average. But last night's outing had 1.60 million viewers and a .4 rating - a 21% increase week to week. Hopefully, this upward trend will continue with the season finale next week.

Aside from the :thud: of listening to him say "I love you"....his sense of humor is kind of cheesy isn't it?

Also, that diagonal wrinkle on his forehead slays me. It just makes me want to kiss it away. :pets:

Another also? He looks tired. Knackered. Is that the right Britishism?

Knackered is indeed the appropriate British colloquialism ;) But no less adorable for it :)

Indeed. Adorably knackered.

Since he's joined Twitter, the cheesiness of his humor has become much more evident. ;)

Yeah, he does look a bit knackered. I can imagine he's still adjusting to the time zone change and been very busy prepping for 'The Smoke'. If only we could all look so good when tired though! :)

If only I could look that good when I'm well-rested. lol

And yes, his Twitter posts are....well, they just serve to make him more adorable in his imperfection. :)

This is now the second time he's filmed a video greeting to apologize for missing a con. That, ladies and germs, is a gentleman. <3

(Also, who do we know who is going who can now make a point to ask Callis to answer a question as Jamie? ;) )

ok, this was funny. well, not for the people who are going to the Con and wanted to see him, etc. but still. Especially since just like last time James is going instead.

James is like the designated hitter of the convention circuit for Jamie now. ;)

"Apollo-gies"? Seriously, Jamie. How adorably dorky.

However encouraging MM's upwards ratings trend, according to Michael Ausiello's latest spoiler column--and Ausiello usually knows what he's talking about--MM is on the "verge of cancellation." It might all hinge on hthe confidence TNT has in its programs in development, but with rumors of the higher-rated, more established Southland's cancellation too, I'm not optimistic.

I'm sorry for fans who won't see Jamie at Galacticon3, but I'm rather glad he's working on another series, given MM's tenuous status.

He's becoming more and more of a dork in his 'old' age. ;)

There's no question MM's chances for a second season aren't great. And I certainly don't want to give people false hope. I didn't watch 'Hawthorne' on TNT, but, if I recall correctly, that was another medical show iffy for a second season renewal, but got one in the hopes the audience would grow. It didn't and was cancelled after the second season. I also think a lot depends on TNT's current pilot development, which they seem to be very silent on at the moment. Honestly, I think there is a greater probability the show will not be renewed, but I also wouldn't rule out a renewal given the complexities networks face nowadays in renewing series when the show is not a clear ratings success.

I, too, am sorry for the fans that won't get a chance to see Jamie. But an acting gig will (and should) always come first and I'm thrilled he was able to get what sounds like a very good opportunity while he waits to hear word on a second season of MM.
