Jamie Bamber Google Hangout Q&A for 'John Doe Vigilante': March 19th!
BipAUFWCEAACqq2BipBUoICUAEBNuF

First, enjoy Jamie's nifty bit of DIY promo for John Doe: Vigilante which he tweeted out a few days back. You're adorable, dude. ;)

Second, this is pretty exciting: Jamie's doing a live Google Hangout Q&A to promote the film THIS WEEK! It's happening from 5PM-5:30PM (Pacific time presumably, since that's where Main Street are located) on Wednesday, March 19th. Here is the Google+ event page for the Q&A; you can also bookmark the YouTube page where it'll be streaming once they begin. (Nice countdown action on that.)

(For all of you in Europe for whom this is going to be happening super late, FYI: Google Hangouts are automatically archived after they've streamed, so you should be able to watch the Q&A the next day at that same link even if it's too late for you to participate.)

UPDATE: And here's the playback! (Unfortunately, the audio was out for the first two minutes and that likely won't be corrected. But it's a good watch regardless!):

There's also a screening in L.A. that same evening; tickets are not available to purchase but you can try to win some from Desde Hollywood, there's still a day left to enter if you missed our tweet. (Yeah, I entered; not getting my hopes up too high, but we'll see. The theaters that are listed for the opening on Friday are not close to me unfortunately!)

Speaking of the opening, it's still restricted to Arizona, California (mostly Orange County) and Colorado at the moment, but it never hurts to let Main Street know if you live somewhere else and would like them to consider a wider distribution.  You can email them via their website, or let them know on Twitter and Facebook. (We've asked for any news on a possible VOD release, too, by the way. Will update if we hear anything back on that.)

The Q&A

How lovely to see how Jamie looks now .
So sad that not many people google questions..you could hear how disappointed he was:(
LOL at the coffered hair comment.... Only Jamie could throw that word into the conversation:)

Re the question about getting into the characters headspace. You could see him getting a little emotional just talking about losing a child. Every parents worse nightmare.

The Smoke.. Everything is crossed that it gets a season 2 , he so wants to do another series, probably lost as much as we want to see it.

Thanks so much or posting the link.. Loved seeing it, and hearing Jamie's articulate, intelligent replies. Never going to tire of listening to him!

Re: The Q&A

I do wonder if the audio problems at the beginning caused some people, who may have asked questions, to give up. I was thinking of giving up if the sound didn't work after five minutes.

I noticed Jamie getting emotional too when he was addressing having to get into the characters head and having Kerry on set and the girls with them. I'm glad he moved on rather quickly because *I* was going to start tearing up.

I found it interesting that his contract for The Smoke expires on April 7. That's not too far away. I know the UK is starting to move more towards US type contracts, in that they now will sign actors into shows for a few series/seasons (the US standard is still much longer at six seasons), so I figured he was locked into the show for the awhile.

When he brought up getting news from Jon Stewart I had to laugh since I was thinking Jon is a prime source of news for me right before Jamie said it. :D

This is a fair point, and also it occurred to me later that the timing of the thing was a little awkward for maximum participation. It fell right during evening drive time for the two time zones where the film is opening Friday; also, Jamie has many fans back home and it was past midnight for them. :/ If they had a full day of press yesterday it may have been the only option, I suppose.

Yep. And when questions weren't popping up, he even looked at his watch and commented it was 5:00 and people were on the road home from work.

The time was probably good for those in the central and eastern time zones (like me), but, thus far, there are no screenings in this part of the country. :/

Re: The Q&A

You're welcome! Technical problems, slow flow of questions, doesn't matter - he *always* gives good interview. ;)

It might of been better to have had the Q&A the previous day at a later time.
To be honest they've done we'll to get any kind of release in the USA. I know of several low budget Australian films that haven't been able to do so.

I really don't know why he hasn't been asked to do more film work. He clearly has the talent and his ability to do various accents would surely be a bonus. Have casting agents/producers been sleeping!
