Interview with TV Guide
Galactica's Jamie Bamber visits a heavenly 'Ghost'

This is actually a nice, long interview with Jamie. The first third of it talks about Ghost Whisperer and the rest talks about Battlestar Galactica. SPOILER WARNING there is some very minor spoilage regarding the last four episodes. One thing I already mentioned in my Con recap, one thing you may deduce from what we have seen already, and then there are the usual hints at a surprising finale. Oh, and the very last question is about Dee and Kara. ;)

Two roles? Cool. :) But I hardly see him turning out to be a loser. And he seems pretty complimentary here about his working experience on CC and GH which I find amusing since he said in a radio interview and at the Con how difficult it was to work on a show and not be able to deviate from the script at all. And I love how he refers to Jennifer Love Hewitt as a TV star. Jamie, what do you think you are? ;)

Great interview, thanks!

Jamie, what do you think you are? ;)

I'm guessing he sees himself as a "working actor," which was what he set as his goal in an interview back from the between-Hornblower days. And it's his view of himself as something other than a 'star' that makes him so interesting... even though he's one of a very few actors I would make the effort to see in person. He is incredible live on stage.

As to looking for a good between-seasons project... I would love to see him at the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. Especially as Henry V... there'd be a lovely irony to hearing him perform the "We band of brothers..." speech. :-D

You've seen him on stage? ::is jealous::

I completely agree with you that he sees himself as an actor first and foremost. I was just amused he didn't see himself as a TV star, which he is as a result of the acting, but it's one of the things that endears him to me. He cares about his craft and wants to act, not make headlines. I have never seen or heard anything from him that has led me to believe he seeks celebrity status. He is, however, a very smart man and he knows that by attending conventions, going to openings or premieres, and putting himself out there it can help his career. He also seems to have excellent representation that is getting him noticed and getting him work.

I think Jamie's first choice would be to get a chance to play "Hamlet", but he has also expressed an interest in doing "Henry V"...after all, he's already played the same role in "Henry IV, Part 1 and Part 2"...and if he got that chance to do either of those, I'd be online booking my travel plans to see it immediately! Whoa, just the thought of Jamie delivering the St. Crispin's Day speech or Hamlet's soliloquy...{swoon}
