Maybe I am too used to Bamber playing Lee Adama on BSG, but I was really unimpressed with his performance in Outcasts. I just watched the entire episode and it was...unremarkable. Then again, it was nice to hear him speaking in his natural accent. He's apparently left Outcasts and I hope his next production plays to his ability. I'd be interested in other people's reactions.
You just watched the entire episode? Interesting since it's still airing. By the way, Barnes69 (your IP address is showing), canuckyuck, or whatever name you finally decide to go by, this is not the place you want to be looking to create drama that doesn't exist.
My apologies to the fans who have to read this. I'll be cleaning up the thread later.
What drama? I was merely asking (1) why he left the show when he had such a prominent role; and (2) saying that I thought he was better in BSG. Clean up the posts all you want...I didn't say a single thing bad about him. Maybe Jamie is right...Americans do have a much better sense of free speech.
If you are American, then read the Federalist Papers...talks about censoring comments you don't like. And it still doesn't change the fact that you chose to censor, and slander, those who disagree with you. Nothing I said breached any norms. As for "drama", you inferred that. I merely commented on what others have mentioned: that the BBC originally hyped his involvement and then it became a "limited ARC role". Nothing sinister inferred. You are implying otherwise. Censor yourself.
Of course they would hype his involvement, he's well known in the scifi fanbase. Also they started advertising well after they knew he was only on one episode (which I guess was from the start) so saying it "became" a limited arc doesn't make any sense.
If by "norms" you mean "people hiding behind hastily constructed IDs or anonymous postings in order to stir up shit rather than offer constructive criticism w/out any pretense or shenanigans"... then yes, that doesn't breach any norms. You're not the first troll in the internet. So.. well done?
Hey Asta, Of course my IP address is showing. There is a message to that effect on my screen. I could have masked it if I wanted to, but I have no desire to do so. I'm still trying to decide what you find so offensive? That I thought Bamber was better in BSG? That it was sad/weird that he left the series? Frankly, appearing in Outcasts seems much better than doing cameos in Philly Brown and waiting to be discovered in Hollywood where British actors are a dime a dozen.
I'm sorry for troll-feeding. My patience for ignoring ignorance is apparently low today, but if you do feel like cleaning up (not that I really think it's needed for garden variety cowardice, arrogance, and easily refuted nonsense) you can clear my replies too.
No worries. You're not the only one guilty of troll feeding. ;) I'm actually torn on deleting at this point. Barnes/Anonymous/Numerous Other Names has been on my radar for awhile, it was just a matter of time until they ended up here, and now others are aware of him/her. I may be done responding myself. The contradictory statements and backhanded criticism of Jamie speaks for itself.
Thank you! Apparently this Barnes69 just found his/her way to my journal too. I don't mind different opinions, but when the intention is so obvious to cause drama and spread info that is either lack of facts or outright lies, I am beyond pissed.
On second thought, I'm glad that I was able to trace all the nonsensical comments this barnes69 person left here. Because frankly when I saw the one comment he/she left in my journal out of the blue, I was rather upset.
But now seeing how this person actually has multiple personalities as well as hides behind anon status, I'm relieved I don't have to take him/her seriously.
Yeah,I think I'll just leave the comments as is. Barnes69 won't be a problem any longer, but I can't disallow anonymous comments because it would be unfair all the other anonymous commenters who are genuine fans, but don't have LJs. Sorry, your own LJ got spammed. If their pattern holds, they'll disappear again soon.
