Huh. So ITV decides that because they've now been trumped twice-over by overseas channels on this series, their only resort to keep things fresh is to... air them out of order? Whipsha! Didn't see that one coming, didja, viewers?! *facepalm*

SPOILERS (swipe the text to read): On a basic level, IMO "Help" is the most dynamic and interesting episode of Series 4, so I'm not sure if they felt like they wanted to start with a bang? I feel as though it's awkward to move it as far away from "Skeletons" as possible, though; on the one hand, the conversations between Jason and James toward the end of "Help" that foreshadow James' downfall in the series finale might still work even with some distance between them, I'm not sure how the other character beats are going to hold up. It seemed logical for those two to air back to back. *shrug*(END SPOILERS)

Hmmm, it just occurred to me that "I.D" was another episode based on a high profile UK case. Actually, it might have been the one that people thought "Broken" was based on, but wasn't. Maybe after the controversy surrounding the "Broken" series premiere, ITV decided to bump "I.D." to later in the series run? Which would mean ITV does not understand the whole "ripped from the headlines" concept that helped make L&O so successful.

I wonder when the new episodes will make it to DVD since I don't have BBCA. I enjoyed the first season DVD set a year ago.
