There is a bit of bad news. It will not possible to order individual copies of Factory. Once Howard explained why it made perfect sense to me and I don't know why it hadn't occured to me sooner. Factory magazine is not available to the general public. It is a magazine published exclusively for entertainment executives and distributed only in LA, NYC, and from what I can gather, occasionally, London. For an exclusive industry publication to suddenly be popping up all over the place could cause problems for Factory.
However, Factory is aware of are eagerness to see Jamie, once more, be on the cover of a magazine. So if there is enough of a demand Factory feels they could produce a special, non-industry edition outside of their normal run. It would seem we are back to the beginning.
I conveyed to Howard that as of Sunday we had 143 requests for copies of Factory. I'd bump that number by about ten considering some individuals only wanted one copy instead of three or four if Jamie was not on the cover. That's pretty impressive for about four days worth of collecting requests. Howard must have been impressed too because he contacted their printer in the UK and asked about the possibility of doing the special edition, at a later date, giving us time to reach our goal. The printer confirmed that they would still need a minimum order of 1000 copies and the price quoted of 5 pounds/$10 plus shipping and handling stands.
I was not given a firm deadline to try to get the needed number, but I don't think it's fair to Factory or the fans to drag this out indefinitely. Right now I'm thinking Friday, April 13th as a target date. I don't want to say that is a firm date because, if we are close, but not quite there, we can extend the order deadline a bit. I just think it's best to provide Factory with some sort of time frame since they have been so amazingly receptive to our enthusiasm.
Continue to send orders to bambernews (at) gmail (dot) com. If you originally only ordered one copy and would like to now purchase more since you are ensured a Jamie Bamber cover, drop me a line and let me know. I will post periodic updates at where we stand with orders.
You have all been fabulous about spreading the word. I admittedly don't venture much off LJ and have very little knowledge of what sites I should be going after to help share the news. I've been surprised as to where this information has turned up. Please continue contacting whoever you think may be interested. And if for some reason you don't feel comfortable doing it, let me know, I'm pushy! ;)
I think that covers everything. If you have any questions, lplease ask, and I will answer them as best I can. Hopefully, with the added time, we can make this happen.
ETA: I'm a moron. I forgot to include the slightly revamped (there's an apostrophe!) Jamie cover that Howard, once again, kindly gave permission to share.
