I feel like we should do something as a community to thank him, though apart from posting something on LJ, I'm not entirely sure what form that could take. He's really been so lovely and generous about all of this. He could have simply taken his toys and left as most would have done, but not only has he been understanding, he's taken the time and effort to try and make the special issue of the Factory possible. and yes, that does benefit him to some extent, but it's still above and beyond the call. So kudos to him. I hope that whenever you do speak with him, you reiterate how grateful wa all are for his generosity. Even if he sent us scans of all the pages, I'd still buy the special issue just as a statemtn of support and admiration for all that he's done.
All of this proves yet again that while fandom can be a crazy ass world at times, it is also a wonderful place where you have the opportunity to meet and interact with some truly amazing people.
I was intrigued by Jamie's quote regarding the two sides of Lee Adama, specifically that he reads posts. Is Jamie aware of the Lee Adama meta goldmine on LJ?
One does wonder. Of course, those people who hate Lee are WRONG because Lee is made of awesome, even when he's being a prick or behaving like a sullen 12 year old. It's that mix of nobility and insecurity that make him interesting. He tries to do the right thing, to be a good man and a lot of time he falls short of the mark but he does keep trying. and sometimes - like the season finale - he gets it spectacularly right.
/loves flawed, emotionally frakked up Lee *thiiiiiiiiiiis* much.
