"Un Jour Mon Pere Viendra" TEASER TRAILER!

GOOD NEWS: Allocine has posted a teaser trailer for Un jour mon pere viendra! There is no embeddable code available, but you can watch it HERE! (Or click the image above.)

BAD NEWS: Seeing as how it's the teaser for French audiences, they aren't anticipating any language barriers so of course there are no English subtitles.

GOOD NEWS: They chose a clip of Jamie doing his "Actually I'm an American and my French accent is a bit crap" thing, and it's excellent. Hee. Also, o hai there chest. o.O

BAD NEWS: That is the only clip of Jamie in the whole thing. (It's at the very end, BTW.) Merde. ;) Hopefully if/when they release a longer trailer, he'll feature a bit more.

So kind of a mixed bag, but still... it's footage!

EDIT: Forget what I said about no embeddable version. YouTube to the rescue ;)

OMG! His terrible French accent is adorable. He must have had such fun playing that! And from the little I caught of the movie, it looks adorable.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! :D

Lol, sounds like a weird mix of British/French/American to me.

And yet, he looks like such a guido, which is cracking me up!

You do realize it's not grease, right? There's a swimming scene. (This is why we retain investigative reporters) ;)

Yeah, but it's not the hair so much as the self-satisfied expression/open shirt combo. Hee. He looks like he should be saying "Aye, oh, Fuggedaboudit!"

Eeeee! Looks like a charming movie. But I really hope they do subtitles, because my French has apparently evaporated since I took it in college. (Or I can just watch for teh pretty! :D) /shallow

Still afraid to hope too hard that it gets a US theatrical release, so I'm focusing my "OMG PLEASE" energies on an English subtitle track on any Region 2 DVD release. ;)

Sweet!

asta77 very graciously edited a recap weeks ago and I got swamped at work and never got back to it. I did it this morning (court deadlines can wait!) and posted a lengthy recap here (http://charlsie-esq.livejournal.com/) if anyone is interested in a massive spoiler on this.

Can't wait for it to come out on video!

[Cannot get this post to format! ugh! Sorry no links]

The link is there, it might just be hard for you to see (the CSS on this page doesn't automatically underline links and it's also a shade of blue/gray.) But it works. ;) And THANKS!

except the obvious that we would have preferred more Jamie on this I can say that looks to be very funny.

The whole strange accent is hilarious.

And I just realized that my french is not as bad as i was afraid but not good as i would have hoped either. So, since hoping for the movie to make to theaters around here is like hopeless I'll join the group of people hoping for an english subtitle (or spanish for that matter - but again, hopeless).
