Somehow reading the discussion back makes us read bitchier than I think we actually are. :P I think we're more frustrated than anything by the fact that we are seeing a lot of potential but feel that the book doesn't stick the landing on all of these things. It should probably be stressed that for a dude who's never written a book before juggling two other full time jobs (one of which is neurosurgery) writing this on planes going two and fro from god knows where, the fact that the book exists at all is a miracle. ;) It does have a lot of flaws, though.
I don't know if I mentioned this at all before, but despite personally being unfamiliar with Jen Finnigan's work, I consulted a pal of mine who was a big Bold & the Beautiful fan - who first gave me the "wait, which Bridget? There have been MANY", to which I replied "I don't watch the show! I know she won Emmys." And then I received "Oh, you're fine. She's the GOOD one!" back, LOL. So I remain confident she can make something out of Tina, provided the writers are stronger with her motivations than what's presented here.
I can't even begin with the Kerry tweet. The fact that she just chucked that out there unsolicited in response to our tweeting the Deadline link! WOMAN. WHY SO AWESOME? :D
I think listing pilots as a TV movie before they are officially picked up is IMDb standard practice, but it would be nice to have an independent confirmation. As I was discussing with dramaturgca
last night though - even a rumor of yet another title change, even a reversal, can only be seen as a positive sign, right? Why bother to change the title at this point if they weren't keen on getting it on the air?
