First and foremost YAY for some Jamie screen time. Unfortunately, just not enough Dr. Hathaway.

As for the episode.. a little blah. As soon as we saw the housekeeper I knew it was Olena. The series concept has potential, but it hasn't quite clicked yet for me. I think Eric Mccormack is actually doing a nice job. Rachel Leigh Cook on the other hand..her delivery just seems so bland. Most of her lines just seem delivered with the same emotion, or lack there of. I'm not buying her as the tough, clever FBI agent. Jamie gave us more facial expression and body language in his brief stint than she did the entire episode. Part of it is the writing for her. Her character jumps to conclusions. she arrests the guy in the band because he has a blue camero like the one seen outside the house. She accuses the real Jolene of having an affair with Frank. Really? Everything about the character seems flat.

Hope to eventually see Dr. Hathaway in the classroom. I would sign up for his class.

But..kudos to TNT, my new favorite network, for finding characters with a Dr. in front of their names for Jamie to play.

But please increase your wig budget if you are going to continue having characters wear them. The wigs were pretty awful in this episode.

I can buy Rachel as clever, but when she was required to e tough and a bad ass....um, no. It's not just because of her size (I'm petite and I've been known to intimidate people ;), it's just she's lacking something that would make me believe anyone would find her threatening.

OMG, YES! I kept thinking, even for a guy who was face blind, he'd still be able to spot the bad wigs!

Yeah, when she was interrogating the pimp/thug/suspected murderer and he was giving her nothing I could totally understand why.

I agree, and I do actually rather like RLC. There is something both in her performance and, I'm sorry to say, the way she's been written so far in the context of the relationship with Daniel that hasn't allowed her to really be a strong counterpoint to him that she needs to be for the show to work IMO. Sometimes she's great - I loved her diving off the fire escape and cuffing a perp in the pilot - but other times it's like she's an entirely different character. :/

I'm there with you about basically everything that you said, even if just like Asta I can see Rachel's character as inteligent (clever i think is the word that you used) but tough on the other hand.... nop.

I sort of ended up comparing her with Marsha Thomason's character in White Collar. There is not such a big difference in age between the two (a couple of years in RL and possibly none in the scripts) but I have no problem in seeing Diana as not only tough but bad ass.

Me too.

I was going to say Marsha was even a bad ass when she was on 'Las Vegas' and not playing a Fed. Then I remembered RLC was on that too. And then I realized my mind was going completely OT. ;p
