James was just imprinted on me from seeing him earlier in the evening

You didn't happen to be watching Eureka, did you?

The word that came to my mind for Dr. Hathaway was smarmy. That isn't a bad description for Baltar either.

the maid she was actually the wife

I thought that might be but I actually have mild propopagnosia so I figured I was off, as I often am.

I was. :) Though, I think James forgot what accent he did when he was first on because he sounded different. In fairness, it has been awhile and they were scrambling to make the episode.

Smarmy might work too. ;) A saving grace for Hathaway is when Kate turned him down for the second time he did walk away. There's a fine line between persistent and pushy and he didn't cross it.

Yes, I think it was a different accent but I *really* hated Dr. Grant's accent when he was on before so I was ok with it. All those Eureka eps just made me think of how great Jamie is at doing numerous accents. Not everyone can pull it off.

Another thing you and I already discussed (I was busy at work, I didn't have time to actually comment! ;) )... but while I appreciate that he backed off in that moment, I don't think it was quite enough overall. Still feel like the show is playing him far too obviously caddish up-front, I would love it if the show played with our expectations a little bit. Part of what was so great about Martin Klar in Dollhouse was that he started off quite dreamy before his evil whack-job side was revealed.
