Well, actually some parts of the world are already experiencing Monday mornings. Just not the show. Which will debut in the evening. I've totally lost you now, haven't I? OK, here's some Bamber for you. :)

Over the last couple days there have been A LOT of interviews and reviews hitting the web. While the reviews have been mostly mixed (with a few extremely positive and negative mixed in), the cast has been consistently praised for it's work. And not to spin things, but I think we've all had experiences with shows in which the early episodes were a little rough. OK, I'll say it: Part 2 of the BSG mini dragged. It did! ;)

The Oregonian:'Monday Mornings' diagnosis - Fair to middling A mixed review, but lots of Jamie quotes. And there was one bit in particular I wanted to address:

His role as Lee Adama on "Battlestar Galactica" has given Bamber experience with a devoted fan base. He's hoping some of those loyal fans follow him to TNT for "Monday Mornings."

"Of all the pilots I've done, or first episodes that I've done, this might be the best," he says. "I hope they like it. One thing I've learned is never to assume anything. The perception from being inside something is very different from outside. I'm very nervous, because I desperately want this to work. I'll be devastated if nobody shows up to watch it."

Jamie, trust us, we're watching! But I think I get his mindset. From the publicity we've been seeing, he is being positioned as the lead and I have to imagine he's feeling some added pressure for the success or failure of the show.

RedEye Chicago: Jamie Bamber trades Viper for scalpel in 'Monday Mornings'. - Nice, long interview with Jamie. He talks about BSG and MM and how the experiences compare.

TNT's Monday Mornings: David E. Kelley Brings the Courtroom Into the Hospital - David E Kelley's name may be in the title, but mostly it's Jamie talking about the show. I'm beginning to sense a pattern. ;)

Media Life Magazine: ‘Monday Mornings,’ needs a quarterback - Small Spoilers, but funny comment about how Wilson and Ridgeway probably should get together because their children would be so good-looking. 'Monday Mornings' promises fresh take on the medical profession. - Beware of some spoilers.

LA Times: For David E. Kelley, 'Monday Mornings' is a fresh start - Short interview with David E Kelly about MM, his successes and failures (I don't think he'll be working again with NBC anytime soon).

Mother Nature Network: Greening new TNT show 'Monday Mornings'. - And article about the show working to be environmentally friendly. I found it interesting. ;)

ETA: A reminder Jamie and Jennifer appear on The Doctors tomorrow. As they say, check your local listings for time and station! :)

The People Magazine ad was also on the back of today's New York Times magazine. :)

Big thumbs up to that RedEye Chicago piece; really is one of the better interviews I have read w/ Jamie in some time. I love the bit about Outcasts, as well. (First time I think I have heard him address the character as a red herring. Yes, Jamie, you were the Janet Leigh in that show! ;) )

From the publicity we've been seeing, he is being positioned as the lead and I have to imagine he's feeling some added pressure for the success or failure of the show.

Yep, I could see that. I could also see him really hoping that the show does well so that it will continue to open doors for him professionally over here. I mean, despite his filling the handsome leading man role in the ensemble, and his character having the major arc of the pilot, everything I am reading keeps emphasizing that the cast all get a fair amount of equal time.. He's not really carrying the show as he would if, say, he were a title character or something and yet, sure he's an anchor in a way he hasn't been in the past. It probably is rather nerve wracking. (Don't freak out, Jim Jam! Have we told you lately you're fucking awesome? You are. No lie. ;) )

Also, he's brought up his fans following him to different projects a few times now in recent interviews, and it does seem like its sinking in a bit that there are folks who dont necessarily strictly associate him with Lee Adama anymore. (Some of us never did, either, even if we rather adored both Lee and BSG!) It is rather sweet of him to say that he hopes that his fans like the show, it shows that he's aware there's obviously going to be some build up and expectations. I hope we like it, too, but hey... at the end of the day, it is giving him a spotlight and a chance to do something completely new as a performer. IMO that's the best that a fan of any artist's creative output* can ask for.

(*okay yes fine clearly he is also crazyridiculoushandsome but that is actually incidental to my point so pbbbbbt. ;) )

I completely agree with your fan point in the last paragraph (as well as the related aside). In addition, a working actor is a visible actor, as we have all seen over the past few weeks, and that is good for us as well. I can't help but hope that his character is likable, though. I'm not big on cocky doctors, and I so want to like Ty! Like him in a Matt Devlin kind of way, not like a supreme charmer way like the Body of Proof character. Not having his skin fall off will surely help. And please, no more bullets to the chest!

I can't even believe that the premiere is today. Well, I'll be happy if with the help of some special type of fairies I'll be able to watch it tomorrow but STILL.....

There is a lot of info here and again I'm amazed by the work that you are doing.

I'll come back and read/comment on the articles but it's Monday Morning for me so... RL calls.

Anyway, in case anybody is wondering... I'm really, really excited. And I wish for time to squee and swoon and you know.... or at least for time for a new icon :)

There's tooooo much. I can't read/watch it all. I was feeling pretty good about getting through this post and then I saw Twitter and the ones on there. I guess it's good to spread things out and it'll be even more interesting to read reviews *after* I've seen the pilot too. Yes, that's the story I'm going to tell myself to keep from ignoring my to do list today.

Thank you so much for compiling. Can't wait for the ep post. :-)

"Yes, that's the story I'm going to tell myself to keep from ignoring my to do list today."

Haha--I hear you. What I don't hear so much is the nagging voice in the back of my head telling me to get to work.

I was just on, and there was Jamie front and center--same ad as in Entertainment Weekly. Woohoo!
