Tina was my least favorite character in the book. I very much approve of the changes that seemingly were made to her character for the TV series. I actually like her now! ;)

Ah, that's what I forgot to mention in my comment! Ty's recovery. It was handled differently than the book. I'm not sure he's fully recovered, yet. I'm interested to see how he is when facing a non-emergency surgery. It could be he's able to pull it together when he doesn't have time to dwell on what went wrong.

Oh, he is not, at all. You know they will revisit this throughout the season... and yet, given how they have expanded the ensemble and the nature of weekly serial storytelling, it makes sense to adjust Ty's reconciliation in a way that allows for him to compartmentalize the pain in the short-term to allow the narrative to progress. In the novel, he can grapple with it continuously in a way he can't here without feeling like a one-trick pony; I get the sense they aren't planning to let that happen, if the last scene between Gato and Ty is anything to go by.
