Surely if he was sufficiently distressed to be imagining things, he wouldn't have been inclined to talk about it so casually?
Yep, that moment seemed so much more casual than the closed-doors moment where he confesses to Tina that he called Quinn's mother. I agree that it might have made more sense for him to approach both confessions in a more distressed, under-the-radar fashion.
I found the actress to be quite good, but as noted some of the dialogue in that storyline - including a lot of hers - was awkward to me.
