You know, I have to say I would have liked the Gato plays matchmaker (awkward!) scene a lot better if it hadn't been for the "you come off better when you are quiet" line. Again, probably not the effect they were going for but that had an icky "the feisty woman needs to shut up" element that I think could have been fixed if Sydney hadn't been so mortified. I kind of wanted to see Sarayu leap off the wall and start jabbing her finger in his face. XD Isn't her feistiness the reason Lieberman likes her in the first place?! Pfft. Go home, Gato, you're drunk. (OK, not yet, but you will be later. LOL. Cuba Librrreeeeees...)

Agree 100% about the Sung/Wayne and the team moment; I think your comment below about demonstrating the ways in which he cares is spot on.

THIS. The part where Gato roll played Sydney and told Lieberman how 'she' feels (and Jonathan's awesome horrified reaction) was funny, but telling a woman she comes off better when she's quiet? Oh, Hell No. And I must admit, I identify with Sydney on many levels. Including I can sometimes ramble on to the point of 'OMG, did I just say that???' But the way it came off was Gato schooling her on how to behave, especially if she wants to keep a man. GRRRRR. I'm getting angry again just replaying it in my head and discussing it here.

There's honestly so much misogyny in this show that I would normally drop it. In fact I've considered doing so even with all it has going for it and the fact that it's such a short season. The only reason I watched this week was that there was the carrot of Ioan on a future ep.

I don't feel like this attitude was in the book so I'm guessing it comes from DEK. I don't know much about him and haven't watched any of his shows (except Ally) from watching this show I feel like I wouldn't like this guy. Frankly, my opinions of everyone involved in the project has gone down a little bit.
