I think I really enjoyed this episode. Yes, there was more Jamie and that certainly didn't hurt but I think the real key is how much of a *&^%#@! HH is being in each episode. He didn't have too much to be a jerk over in this one and when he just pulled at whatever the hell he felt like Ty pushed back. (I might've screamed with joy at that bit).

There was a lot of feel-goodiness. With the soldiers and the baby and the husband who didn't have rights in the state. I think most people would be likely to have a positive emotional reaction to at least *one* of those!

I agree that the T/T stuff is still being oddly written. In a show that's had problems with telling not showing they told us (via HH and Gato) that Ty wasn't as into Tina as Tina was into Ty. But since then Ty has repeatedly showed us that he's sort of more into her. It's all confusing. I do tend to be somewhat literal but I don't need everything spelled out. This just feels like they're being oblique for the sake of being oblique and I really hate that. It's reallyreallyreally hard to pull off well and this proves it.

But just a quick handwave at how the relationship has been handled and I can get back on the positive track that this was a really nice ep.

Oh and, knowing that IG would be guesting next week made me even more annoyed than usual that there was no, "Next week on Monday Mornings" trailer. But still -- squee.

Loved. Loved that after the one-two punch of his accomplishments on that day, Ty was in the perfect headspace to just not budge one goddamn inch when Hooten started in on him. It was a nice contrast to the reveal which was Hooten basically pulling a big fat "Psych! Ya done good, kid" on him, but it was still satisfying to watch. ;)

I absolutely don't need everything spelled out, either; I enjoy it immensely when a show makes me think and draw my own conclusions, in fact it's preferable. However I think the "telling and not showing" issue we've been bringing up over and over again is not at all about the show needing to be more literal, but demonstrating more firmly that it knows the dynamics of its own characters. The issue with Ty/Tina before tonight has been that in what I am sure was intended to be a slow burn has come off as more vague than anything, and in a way that undermined what Jamie & Jen are bringing to the table. What was SO nice about tonight was not the long-overdue tenderness or the showery snogging sexytimes (though that wasn't half bad, was it? ;)) - it was that this particular episode felt assured in where the relationship stands and we could get on with seeing them both as a couple AND as colleagues. The way the two pinged off each other accomplishing that remote surgery was quite nicely handled by all parties. *golf claps of approval*

Well said. I would have loved to have been in the writers room when they were discussing how (or how not to) develop the Ty/Tina relationship onscreen. I'm having Lee/Dee flashbacks and, I can;t believe I'm saying this, but that relationship was better developed in comparison!

Was THRILLED Ty pushed back. While I do feel Hooten has a right to be concerned as to how personal relationships could effect their work (they do have people's lives in their hands), bringing the topic up in the 311 I find totally inappropriate (and rage inducing). They could go to hospital lawyer and board and ask he be reprimanded/removed.
