Unless Hooten is being set up for a fall himself, I can't fathom watching this behavior week in and week out indefinitely.

THIS. SO much this. Calling Tina out on trying to do the fancy operation because her marriage is falling apart -- without *first* checking into the case to see if the procedure was called for or not. That's just not cool. And it isn't in line with his exacting standards. I can't figure out what he's supposed to be. Is he supposed to be a dick who gets off on taking doctors down a peg? Because a lot of the time that is what it seems like. Or is he supposed to be a chief who expects his doctors to live up the highest standards? The latter is a show I'd love. The former is a show that, honestly I'm not interested in watching.

Or let's take Dr. Delaney's case. I get how it's right for those in charge to take responsibility for those they're in charge of, but according to the Captain of the Ship Doctrine as Hooten pointed out it's ultimately HH's fault that this happened. So why wasn't he fired as well? That's the problem, these constant logical fallacies that come from the 311 and Hooten. I can't take them.

I think that's the 'Ioan is a guest star so he takes the fall' rule. ;p But, seriously, yeah, you can't have Hooten say it's ultimately his fault, then fire Delaney. And I really don't know of a hospital that would - or could - just up and fire someone for a mistake like that. While Delaney had some responsibility, and it was to his credit he took some responsibility, we know it's one of the nurses who would have been fired.
