Yes! Definitely! A scene along these lines would have made all the difference and gone a long way to establishing some kind of believable intimacy between them. They way they interact at the moment reminds me more of two people who are trying to get it together but don't know how to make the first move. There's an awkwardness to their relationship that doesn't suggest that they have been intimate for over a year.

And while I'm at it...we keep getting told that Ty is allegedly a big hot shot arrogant surgeon but so far he comes across as the most modest of the lot of them! All the others seem infinitely more confident than he does. I think that's primarily due to the early introduction of the Quinn case but, it's still rather annoying, which is a shame really because I think the hesitancy that Jamie brings to the character give Ty real depth.

Thanks ma'am. :) I'm glad you liked it; and you are spot on, too. I think the awkwardness to some degree is there in the script and in their performances because of the hurdles they've been thrown that we have seen, Tina being served with divorce papers, Hooten dragging their affair out into the spotlight, etc. And perhaps some of that should be there, but without a contextual element of seeing them interact the way they have for, as we have now learned, months and months before we met them... it's lacking that anchor.

And I agree, I LOVE that hesitancy and thoughtfulness that Jamie employs in a lot of moments, which I think speaks to the sort of "zen master surgeon" aspect of his character, heh. ;) Which is also in the book! And that could be balanced more often by the cocky side of Ty, which I'd love it if the show rolled out more often. MORE of him flat-out shutting down Hooten's poking and prodding. More of that, for damn sure.

Agreed. It's also really hard to judge how committed they are to each other. Sometimes Tina seems more committed, sometimes Ty. Mind you, I suppose that's the way real relationships work. I certainly don't object to ambiguity in onscreen relationships but it's a bit frustrating when that ambiguity results from poor scripting.

Oh yes, definitely!
