Happy Birthday Jamie!
For many a reason, in six plus years, I've refrained from the whole birthday post thing here. However, when someone has one of those birthdays ending in a zero, it seems to be a tradition to make a bigger deal out of it. Perhaps we can blame history. There was a time people were considered quite fortunate to live 40 years. Or maybe we can blame Hallmark. I like blaming Hallmark. Whatever the reason, the consensus was this April 3rd should be acknowledged.

A simple Happy Birthday seemed insufficient to start this thread. And going on and on about your many fine qualities seemed potentially embarrassing. So, let me sum up! :) You made us love Captain Apollo and Archie Kennedy and Matt Devlin. And we're still mourning two of them. (As a side note: Firefighting is a dangerous profession. If you can survive The Smoke, we'd greatly appreciate it. Seriously.) The experience most of us had upon reading that first interview with you was something along the lines of, "Wait. This guy is also smart and funny?" And while other actors share the same platitudes and stories over and over...and over...again, you always have a fresh take to share. Even when it comes to BSG. After numerous conventions. That is quite the gift.

So, Jamie, you are worth breaking my tradition of ignoring birthdays and wishing you a very happy one. I know some people face turning forty with dread. Others will tell you forty is fabulous. And there is some substantial evidence that you have only gotten better with age.

And a virtual toast to you. May you have many more birthdays (but we promise to limit these posts to the ones ending in zero) and may the years ahead be filled health, happiness and success. Cheers.

Dilemma! I'm incapable of posting in these kind of threads without busting out Photoshop in a silly fashion, but what to make? Party hats are so... uh, old hat. Do I Photoshop your name onto a cake? Noooo. (Although Google produced some fairly epic cakes that were asking for it, I tell you.)

And then I saw it. And it couldn't possibly be anything else...

Happy birthday, Jamie. Don't you dare give getting older a second thought because you're doing it right! ;) — Nicole

(Yes, it is an actual thing you can buy. I know. WOT?)

Let me start off by apologising for the lack of visual aids in my post as I am, to use a technical term, graphically challenged.

Happy Birthday to the lovely, amazingly talented and handsome Jamie.

Over the years he has had some brilliant roles and made me fall in love with Archie, Lee and Matt. He has had some amazing on screen moments from the speech on the stand at Baltars trial, going toe to toe with D'Anna during a hostage crisis and of course the towel scene. His characters also have a habit of biting the dust, Archie's was a particular tear jerker and Matt being gunned down in the line of duty - ps this never happened, Matt is in witness protection, well in my head anyway.

We've also had some great guest roles in Dollhouse, Perception, House, Outcasts, Body of Proof to name but a few.

So thank you Jamie for the hours of viewing pleasure you have given to me and all your fans.

We have a lot to look forward to here in the UK we are due to see Monday Mornings this summer and then there is the Smoke, due on Sky 1 later on this year. John Doe also is due to be released at some point.

Happy 40th Jamie, may you continue to prosper and be on our TV screens and in movie theatres for many years to come.

In the Hornblower fandom, we affectionately referred to your character as our delicious and sweet little Crumpet, but what a long way you've come since then!

Happy 40th Birthday, and may the best be yet to come!

It's been three years since I discovered BSG. Since then I have devoured nearly your entire body of work. Thanks for 36 months of nearly daily squeeing, and Happy Birthday!
