Jamie Bamber & Others in Samuel L. Jackson's "One For the Boys" PSA Clips

While we continue to wait on our first look at The Smoke, here's a little something extra; if you follow our Twitter you probably saw these already, but here they are for anyone who hasn't! Samuel L. Jackson's "One For the Boys" charity benefits testicular and other cancers and promotes men's health awareness, and Jamie and other celebs who participated in this summer's charity golf event shot these PSAs:

And share with any menfolk who are special to you! TAKE CARE OF YO'SELF, dudes.

(*Also, I just wanted an excuse to post a screenshot of that image above. Because, HI THERE, Jim Jam. ;) )

No excuse needed to post that sort of thing. Posting it is a public service. :D

*fans self* My, is it hot in here or what? (That top image, it makes the mind go to very very bad places...)

Thanks for posting these, I had seen the first one but not the subsequent two. Great films and a great cause. And as for that image....Oh. My!

Btw, meant to say that I listened to the BBC Radio 4 Front Row interview with Lucy Kirkwood last week but sadly not a peep about The Smoke. Not even a mention of it :(

Burying the lead in the small font, are ya?! ;) I know... I've got feelers out in a bunch of places press-wise but I don't expect anything to come of those for several months yet. Jodie Whittaker spoke a little about it in an interview when she was doing Broadchurch DVD promo, but nothing we didn't already know so I didn't post.

It would be awfully nice to have more behind the scenes stuff at this point. But whattaya gonna do. :/

I plead guilty to not having reported back to you last week :} Not that there was anything to report! They're keeping the series well under wraps aren't they?! Any idea when they're likely to start promoting it? Am I right in thinking they're still at the filming stage?

They are still filming, at least for another several weeks. Jamie's been VERY quiet on Twitter, but… he's Jamie. ;) There's still an element of being stunned that he's on Twitter at all! Kerry's also been a lot quieter overall while they were on their holidays over there, and that's totally understandable. When Kerry mentioned visiting the set with the kids, I did take the opportunity to tweet them that it would be great if Jamie would post updates from on set from time to time… which I was very hesitant to do unless the opportunity presented itself, and I won't do it again. (Didn't get any responses.) I don't think there's any point in asking about it more than once, but it felt like it was worth a shot to put the notion out there.

I don't expect he'll ever be as casual a hand as some actors are at tweeting what they're up to, it's just not really who he is. But at the same time now that he has it, it would be smart of him to keep people updated on what he's working on; he probably just still needs to find a level he's comfortable at. I will say this, though, I do wonder if you're right and Sky is deliberately trying to keep a lid on the show overall; some of Jamie's co-stars are also on Twitter, and though they've occasionally tweeted about the show it's always in the briefest terms and they never post photos.

I continue to think too few studios/networks fail to see the benefits of social media and either don't encourage their actors/writers/directors to tweet about their shows or actively discourage it. I follow some actors on Twitter who tweet regularly, but never discuss filming. Others regularly share tidbits or photos, although vague. I'd say USA and The CW, from my experience, are two that get the advantages of sharing and interacting with fans. So, while I'd LOVE Jamie to share more, he actually seems to be in the majority of actors who don't tweet about their current projects.

Hmmm... There's something about "Men talk about current affairs and sport and women talk about personal things" that puts my back up...

Was it just me whose mind to 50 shades of grey when they saw the first picture *off to put myself in the naughty corner*
