Loved the scene with Kev, Mal and Trish at the fight, that was devastating,
It really was, and as there was that beat where the camera focused on Kev's eyes and the realization sinking in I was *not* expecting him to deflect like that. Jamie nailed that moment so well that for a hot minute I was convinced Trish *had* told him! But then the gut punch came. Oof.
If I have a minor criticism it's that I can't help thinking that LK overdoes the hypermasculinity sometimes. Also it got a bit too frenetic in places perhaps.
Yeah and the setting of the flashback scenes in this ep amplified that to the Nth degree, but that's probably not entirely surprising. It's two dudes kicking, punching and biting (ow) ten shades of shit out of each other; that energy's gonna invade the room. It does feel like LK is on somewhat unfamiliar territory at times, the choices she makes are always interesting though.
And I have to give full marks to Kev butting a dude twice his size in the face because... COME ON. (The best part of that was that he played it like something Kev has plenty of practice with, probably going back to getting in fights at school, so he kind of did it without hesitation. And yet that look on his face of "God DAMMIT, I forgot how much that hurts." *chortle* A+, Bamber.)
