More News on Jamie Bamber's 'Rizzoli & Isles' Role
Jamie R&I Post

TV Line has some specifics on Jamie's two episode arc on Rizzoli & Isles. Jamie will be playing "Paul Wescourt, a successful prosecutor who is accused of killing his mistress". His first episode, 'Burden of Proof', will air on TNT in the U.S. on Tuesday, September 2nd. He'll appear again in the first episode following the series midseason break.

Rizzoli & Isles is scheduled to air fifteen episodes this season. With the midseason break coming late in the season (and the term "midseason break" often network code for several weeks of repeats or sporting events), I would assume we won't have too long to wait to learn Paul's fate. Will he be innocent, guilty, or joining a long list of character's Jamie has played who will most definitely not be making a return appearance? ;)

Two things:

1. It would be really nice to circumvent the obvious and have him actually *not* be guilty. Not because I have an issue with him being a killer (See: John Doe, Outcasts, CSI...) but because CIRCUMVENTING THE OBVIOUS IS WHERE I LIVE. ;) (Also, going to be hopeful that since the writer of this episode is female, maybe that'll help the tropey violence-against-women premise.)

2. If it's a midseason cliffhanger, wouldn't that also seem to indicate needles pointing to "things are really not at all what they seem?"

Also, put him in lots of really gorgeous well-tailored suits if he's a prosecutor, show. That'll earn you brownie points. You're welcome.

My guess is that the 2nd half of the season will start in Jan. TNT runs some programs similar to the way Battlestar was early on. I have watched a few episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, and my mom watches the series.

It will be good to have Jamie back on US TV.

not the bad guy

It would be nice for him not to be the bad guy. although he plays a really good bad guy. Maybe it will start a repeat guest.
