This past weekend Jamie appeared alongside Dad EJO at the London Film & Comic-Con. ;)  There are LOTS of photos on Twitter, most of them fans' personal snapshots so we won't repost those; you can see them here.

The above, excellent pic is from the BSG panel on Saturday, which we're hoping some footage turns up from online as it was apparently very good; will update this post if any clips turn up!

And now, further convention news:
- This week it was announced that Jamie would join Richard Hatch's annual BSG panel at San Diego Comic-Con; it takes place Thursday, July 24th at 10:30am in room 6BCF.
- Jamie will also present at the annual Eisner Awards, honoring excellence in comics, on Friday night at SDCC. The Eisners take place at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront; all SDCC badge holders get in free, while seats are available.

The full SDCC Schedule is available here!  Jamie may also do a signing at some point while he's at the con, though nothing's been announced yet; we'll update with that info if we get it.
UPDATED: Signing info!  No dates/times yet, we'll add that shortly when it's posted - but Jamie will be signing at the Quantum Mechanix (QMx) booth #3249 during SDCC.
UPDATED PART DEUX!: Well if you're at SDCC, you'll have plenty of time to stop by and meet Jamie!  He's signing at QMx on Saturday, 7/26 from 1:15pm - 6pm, and again on Sunday from 10am - 4pm.  That's over 10 hours.  Go say hi.  He's flippin' lovely. We promise. ;)

11 hours with Jamie!

I was lucky enough to PA for Jamie twice over his weekend at LFCC. He's everything you expect him to be. Charming, kind, polite, generous, articulate, funny and genuinely interested in his fans. Any question asked was fully and candidly answered any gift gratefully received.
I've been very lucky over the years and have looked after some wonderful actors and actresses. I can honestly say that Jamie is now at the top of that list. It was a joy to spend so much time in this kind , talented gentlemans company. Jamie shared various snippets of info over the weekend and I'll share them when I've had a chance to remember them.
The one thing I will say is that all the cast of The Smoke really want a second series. Jamie himself tweeted Sky and the head of entertainment today as all weekend Fans were asking about the second series and were gutted that it had been cancelled. Can we all please tweet , facebook and email sky. Let's get The Smoke trending and get Sky to change their mind. Jamie and the cast want it and so do the fans. Let's try and make this happen.

Re: 11 hours with Jamie!

I'm glad you had the opportunity to spend some time with Jamie. I've been to my fair share of cons and Jamie and his fellow BSG castmates are truly some of the nicest people and best con guests around. We look forward to any tidbits you can share once you have the time....and probably catch up on your sleep. ;)

Without a doubt the cast and crew of The Smoke would love to continue the series and we'd all love to see more of it. Right now, it's unclear if anyone with Kudos or Sky has a desire to resurrect the show. And I say resurrect because with contracts expired it becomes very difficult to bring back everyone involved, even if the desire to do so is there. If we're able to confirm there is interest from Kudos or Sky to resume production (and perhaps Jamie mentioned something to you that makes you believe that is the case), then we are certainly interested in helping the cause.

And, again, thanks for sharing. :)

I'm trying to work out what I can say without betraying a confidence. More has gone on behind the scenes than you know. If the sky or another company stepped up to the plate series 2 could start production very quickly. Time is of the essence. I appreciate you don't know or trust me but I beg you to take my request for help seriously. A campaign should of been started as soon as The Smoke was cancelled

I'm happy to help with any campaigning to get the Smoke back for a second series - just let me know what to do :-)

Thanks. While we'd love to help bring the show back for a second series, it appears there is no hope. :( We rarely reach out to Jamie or his people, but, given Jamie's tweet and some discussion going on online, we thought it best to verify if there was a chance, even a small one, for 'The Smoke' to return. Sadly, there isn't.

It seems that while Kudos wanted to continue on, Sky isn't interested. And I'm assuming no other network has expressed an interest in picking it up, which wouldn't surprise me given the UK has fewer networks compared to the US. Also,'The Smoke' not yet having aired in the US, I believe, may have played a role in the cancellation. I know international sales are increasingly important for renewal and, for example, The CW picked up 'Beauty and the Beast' for another season, to the dismay of many, because it does well in Europe.

So, that's my long winded way of saying, I wish we had better news to share, but there's nothing we can apparently do that would make a difference. :/

Well it's been sold to Canadian TV.. So it has commercial and overseas sales potential. That's a start. The Aussies will love it too and if the show hadn't been scheduled against such strong established competition it would of achieved an even bigger audience. Thursday 9pm slot was at the time so busy. Mon-Wednesday should of been its time slot.
I'm incredulous that a second series can't happen, especially such a different gritty yet amusing (in parts )show. I struggle to find anything decent to watch. It's all cops, autopsy, apocaylpse or vampires..
